What are the assessment panels looking for?
Quality, technical expertise, new and innovative ideas or processes, potential for future development.
Remember, people assessing work can only go on the information you provide.
They will be looking at everything you submit so be professional about every aspect of your application! It should go without saying… the quality of the images you submit is paramount please make sure they are: high quality, in focus, have correct lighting, are of your recent work.
We will use the following guidelines when assessing all applications:
- Is there a clear indication of how the grant or award will impact on the applicant’s future, once the proposal has been completed?
- Is the project feasible, i.e. is it practical and is it likely, based on the experience and judgment of the assessment panel?
- Does the proposal described in the application demonstrate the creative and technical ability of the applicant?
- Can the proposed activity be completed within a reasonable timeframe?
- Does the quality of the application and proposal reflect a high standard and clarity of purpose?
- If the level of funding awarded does not fully meet the cost of the proposal has the applicant provided a clear budget and evidence that the activity can be undertaken?
Who will assess my application?
All applications received by the deadline will be assessed and short-listed by an internal panel comprising of Crafts Council of Ireland staff.
Short-listed candidates will be assessed by an external panel consisting of:
- 2 x external assessors with relevant expertise in the crafts sector
- 1 x representative from Crafts Council of Ireland
The external panel will have the option to review all applications received and change any decision or recommendation made by the internal panel.
