Deadline: 17th September | Festival dates: 27th – 30th September.
The annual ENGAGE Arts Festival, which takes place over Bandon from September 27th to 30th with an electrifying programme of music, literature, dance, visual art and theatre, celebrates its fifth birthday with an exciting new one stage design competition.
Designs are sought for innovative, concept-led, contemporary pieces of street furniture for the town of Bandon. Selected entries will be displayed throughout the Festival, encouraging comment, engagement, and interaction between the designers and the community members who will be end consumers of the work.
The judging panel of five will include an industry expert, representatives of Cork County Council’s Arts Office and of its Architecture Department, and a nominee of the National Sculpture Factory. The Design Competition is open to practicing architects, third level students of architecture, fine art and design, and artists working in any medium. Entry is €50 with the winner awarded a prize of €2,000.
Further information and registration details are available on www.engageartsfestival.com/design-competition. The Competition is organised by ENGAGE Arts Festival with the support of Cork County Council and Bandon Town Council and with funding support from The Arts Council of Ireland.
